FAQ
Do I need to install anything in Salesforce?
No. bluefactory doesn't install any package into your org, so it leaves no footprint. You simply sign in securely with your Salesforce account and connect the orgs you want to protect.
How does bluefactory sign-in work? What about my password?
bluefactory uses Salesforce's standard OAuth sign-in. You authenticate on Salesforce's own login page, and Salesforce confirms your identity to bluefactory — we never see or store your Salesforce password. To reset your password, use "Forgot your password?" on the Salesforce login page; nothing needs to change in bluefactory.
Which Salesforce editions are supported?
bluefactory works with Salesforce editions that include API access:
- Enterprise Edition
- Unlimited Edition
- Performance Edition
- Developer Edition
How does licensing work?
Plans are based on the Salesforce orgs you connect and what you protect — not on the number of team members. Your whole team can use bluefactory at no extra cost.
There are four plans: Community and Developer (free), and Business and Enterprise (paid). See Billing for what each includes.
Can I start for free?
Yes. New accounts start on a free plan with no payment information required — connect an org and run real backups right away. Free plans have limits on the number of recurring backups and change trackers; one-time backups are always available. Upgrade any time under Settings → Billing, or contact us about Business and Enterprise.
Where is my backup data stored? Is it encrypted?
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. By default snapshots are stored in bluefactory's managed cloud storage; you can instead connect your own cloud storage so backup data stays on infrastructure you control — see Cloud Storage. For more on our security practices, see the Security section.
Can I install bluefactory on-premises?
No. bluefactory is exclusively a SaaS offering — you use it in your browser, and we operate the service for you.
What payment methods can I use?
Payment is by credit card through Stripe, with monthly or annual billing. Bank transfer is possible under certain conditions — contact us. If you need a quote, purchase order, or invoice as part of a procurement process, let us know.
Is support included?
Yes. Email support is included for all customers at support@bluefactory.io. Our team is based in France, so core hours are roughly 9am–6pm CET, but we often reply outside those hours too.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Go to Settings → Billing to change your plan. To cancel, contact support@bluefactory.io. Monthly plans can be stopped at the end of any month.
How do I delete my bluefactory account?
Send your request to support@bluefactory.io. Be aware that after deletion you lose access to your backup history — if you only stop subscribing, your existing backups remain accessible for the duration of your retention period.
TODO: Confirm the current post-cancellation retention policy.
What about GDPR?
Privacy and data protection are central to bluefactory. See our dedicated GDPR section for how bluefactory helps you meet your GDPR obligations — including anonymization and the Data Compliance module for right-to-be-forgotten and rectification requests.
