Compare Salesforce metadata between two orgs
Bluefactory Compare Orgs make it easy to identify differences between 2 Salesforce Orgs.
First, you need to create a link between your 2 Orgs. Then, run the Bluefactory feature and identify the gap in seconds.
1. Run a comparison
From the Bluefactory platform, click on the Change Tracker tab. Then, click on Compare orgs on the left menu. On the Compare orgs page, click on the New Org Comparison button at the top right.
Then, give your comparison a name and specify the source and target Orgs. You can set up advanced option by defining components type you wish to exclude from the analysis.
Click on Save.
Note that the comparisons run daily by default but you can manually run one at any time. To do so, click on the comparison name from the Compare orgs main page. Then, click on the Run comparison button at the top right.
2. Read the results
Go to the Compare Orgs main page from the Change Tracker tab. Each comparison that has run are listed here. Click on a comparison name to access its overview: change trend chart and jobs history table.
The chart allows you to visually control the changes and differences between the target and the source org, over time.
Scroll down to see the Change history table. Click on a Start date (the last run for example) to see a more detailed report. The Compare orgs details page let you access the components, ordered in 4 categories:
Modified items - Components that have been modified since the last run
Only in source - Components that appear only in the source org
Only in target - Components that are only in the target org
Ignored items - Components that have been excluded from the analysis
3. Exclude a component/component type
Go to the Compare Orgs main page from the Change Tracker tab. Click on a comparison name.
Note that the overview comparison displayed some information like the number of component types excluded. Click on Show to quickly see which component type name has been excluded from the last analysis.
On the Compare Orgs overview page, click on a start date run.
Then, you can select the component name you want to ignore. When you finished to select the components, click on the Exclude selected button above the table.
If you wish to ignore only the components selected. Click on Exclude selected components.
You can choose to exclude the corresponding component type (all the components with the same type of those you selected). Click on Exclude selected component types.
All excluded components will move to the Ignored items category.
