Backup User Permission Requirements in Salesforce

Bluefactory User must have several Salesforce permissions

Bluefactory leverages the Salesforce API. Please ensure that the Authenticated User has the required permissions as listed below:

  • The backup user must have the "Modify All Data" permission.

  • A license of any installed package (that requires a license to access its data) must be assigned to the backup user.

  • At least Read Access to all Standard & Custom fields (from the Field Level Security page).

  • If you are using the Salesforce Knowledge Base, the backup user must be a Salesforce Knowledge User.

Bluefactory recommends having a dedicated user provisioned specifically for Bluefactory as a best practice for security and audit trail capabilities. An Admin User can act as a substitute if your company does not want to create a dedicated user.
